He Called Her Woman

“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation;” Hebrews 2:3a

God’s salvation is personal and intentional.

Today we will look at our Lord’s salvation in your life specifically from the perspective of a woman.

“And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.” 1 Timothy 2:14womansiloutte

Keep in mind the woman was the first to transgress. This should be a sobering thought to every woman alive. Not only are we born of Adam’s seed and come to this life a sinner (Romans 5:12) we have the awful reminder that the mother of all living was the first to sin. She was a woman like you and I.

“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:” Ephesians 1:4

Our God is an intentional God. Nothing happens by “chance” without His divine hand having a part. Truly our God is even the God of the “what ifs” how much more of an incredible impact to know He is your God specifically as a woman.

“And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.” Genesis 2:22

God created the woman from man’s side, taking a rib and making a woman. After that our Lord brought her to the man. As you recall God brought Adam to an awareness that, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.” Genesis 2:18 Our Lord did not tell Adam he needed a woman rather He allowed Adam to see his own need.

“And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. “ Genesis 2:19-20

Once Adam had a need God continued His masterpiece, the crown jewel of His heart. What our Lord desired most, He wanted Adam to desire. And through intentional preparation knowing the woman would transgress, knowing the first Adam would fail, God crafted the woman from man’s side.

Intentional, deliberate and purposeful. These are words I want you to remember of how our Lord operates as He unfolds HIS story. God brought the woman to the man.

“And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” Genesis 2:23

Adam called her Woman prior to her transgression. Eve the woman of all living then fell into shame and disgrace in her transgression because the first Adam refused to be her redeemer.

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” Romans 5:12

We as Eve’s daughters bear that shame but glory to God for so great a salvation to you as a woman!

“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” Matthew 1:23

Mary, whose name means bitter, rebellion becomes the representation of all women who would be redeemed by the second Adam.

“When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!” John 19:26

Our Lord calls his mother Woman. But what grips me most is what is about to take place. Our Lord will soon commend His spirit and die. But our God is intentional, deliberate and purposeful.

“The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him. But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.” John 19:31-34

Our Lord called her Woman prior to being pierced on His side. Whereas Eve was taken out of man, Christ made a way for the rebellious woman to be put back into the divine man, the God and creator who loved her with an everlasting love. Thus His act of love redeems ALL mankind. And more specifically and personally our Lord has redeemed you!

Only His own words can describe the incredible desire of His love He has towards you to offer you so great a salvation.

Son 4:10 How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! how much better is thy love than wine! and the smell of thine ointments than all spices!
Son 4:11 Thy lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: honey and milk are under thy tongue; and the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon.
Son 4:12 A garden inclosed is my sister, my spouse; a spring shut up, a fountain sealed.
Son 4:13 Thy plants are an orchard of pomegranates, with pleasant fruits; camphire, with spikenard,
Son 4:14 Spikenard and saffron; calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense; myrrh and aloes, with all the chief spices:
Son 4:15 A fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon.

Oh Woman, that you may love Him for He has loved you first with His very own life to redeem you unto Himself.

To GOD be ALL the GLORY

In His hands,
