Perfect Balance God’s Way

For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else. Isaiah 45:18

I am fascinated by the relentless search for balance. I recently came across this video where the search for a balanced productive life is being sought out in nature.

People are willing to learn from what nature has to say. Oh if only they would be willing to have ears to hear this is what nature would declare…

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.  Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.  There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.  Psalm 19:1-3

Oh to get an amazing glimpse of our God in nature!

The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory. Psalm 97:6

Man’s View of Balance

There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Proverbs 16:25

How do we, as God’s people view a balanced life with God?Young lady balancing near mountain and beautiful sky view.

I hear it quite often from different people…You must do your part before you expect God will do His.

Somehow, in my mind and heart, something isn’t quite right with this thinking especially when your part is not defined. Does that mean God won’t do His part if I am not doing what I am supposed to do perfectly right? I mean, I admit I do have issues with laziness, complacency and the likes. But then there are days I am determined to work. All this is great but as I study God’s words I simply see my part is to yield.

God’s View of Balance

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:9

I know, sounds way too simple right? All I have to do is yield, that’s it?

Yep.

But. But. What about doing things for God?

Only if God does them through you.

God’s way of a balanced life, to be honest, really does not compute to a “do gooder’s” fleshly nature. Yes, you can even do “good” or “right” things in the flesh. I think this one is the hardest for a lot of us to comprehend because we like to justify ourselves that God knows my intentions. But well-meaning intentions can still fall short of the glory of God.

See in order to have proper balance with God, you must be yielded. And I will add the word “willing” with your being yielded.

A Handful of Examples of God’s Balanced Life for You:

  • You come empty, God fills you
  • You die (old man) to self, God gives you His life
  • You have nothing, God gives you everything in Christ
  • You stop YOUR works, God works His works in and through you
  • You truly have nothing to give, God becomes the gift in you to give others

These are just a few things that came to mind and there are so many more.

You know, mentally, we can agree with all this but in practice, we are so far from the reality of God’s balance in our lives.

Meditations for You

Is God your balanced life. If you were to view it on a scale you would see on both sides of the scale God.

On the one side God who has finally convinced you to come to the end of yourself. That is the end of yourself in your own strength and weakness. And on the other side of the scale there is God who is ready to be your strength and ready to be made perfect in your weakness 🙂

Take time and find God’s balance, His way, in your daily practical life today.

When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.  Psalm 27:8

To GOD be ALL the GLORY
