Prayer that is Powerful

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:7-8

This is a great verse on prayer. But do you believe it?Praying meditating. Girl watching ocean below.
Often times we make mental accents or agreements with God’s word. After all, it is God’s word what child of God would want to deny that it is the truth?

Yet mental accent does not tap into true faith. Faith comes when there is action. Here is a simple materialistic example.
There is a chair in the room. The chair looks sturdy enough and you believe that if you sit in the chair that it could hold your weight. You are not putting your faith in the chair until you sit in it.

You not only believe the chair will hold you (mental accent) you now rest your faith (belief put to action) in the chair.

So it is with all God’s promises. It is not enough to know God’s promises in His word, you must apply them.

Making Time for Prayer

I have taken time off from my regular schedule of writing on the Love’s Weaving Hand series books. This was to focus more on my Lord and how he desired to orchestrate my year. I am holding off my writing for another week in order to learn more on prayer.
My pastor and his wife are in Africa. So as a church, we have spent time in prayer. A friend of mine shared the following video on prayer. She and I have agreed to pray together and apply what we are learning.

Part 2 and 3 Are Also Available

I pray you are challenged to act upon the truths presented by Milton Martin. Not even my own writing would be effective if not for the gracious promises of God’s word to me. His promise that because of Him I am to make a difference even if it were in one life.
And of some have compassion, making a difference: Jude v22
Yet knowing my Lord He does exceeding and abundantly above anything I could have ever asked or think ?
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21
To GOD be ALL the GLORY
