Invest Your Talents for God’s Glory

“Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.” Matthew 25:27

Invest your talents - Young lady thinking at beachWhere are you going to invest the talents God entrusted you with?

Something else I have learned when communicating your faith effectively – it takes more than words. Communication of your faith takes actions. And these are actions that line up with God’s desires and not your own.

I was recently challenged to invest monies which were literally given to me in an envelope with my name on it. The money was intended encourage me. I use was to use it in the publication of my own books.

I had plenty of ideas on what to do with a few hundred dollars. I could purchase the stock photos for use in the physical print of The King’s Daughter, Love’s Weaving Hand (LWHseries) Book 1. As God’s child I was given an incredible opportunity as well as a choice.

  1. Use the few hundred dollars in my own writing advancements
  2. Find a way where I could invest the money God had provided for a greater return

In both cases it was a form of investment. And with any investment there is always a risk involved. But my choice was invest in myself and my dreams or use the money to open up opportunities for others.

“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9a

God desires to show Himself strong in your life. And in order for Him to do so you must first admit you are weak and in need. If you lack wisdom to invest then ask God who promises to grant you wisdom and He will not upbraid you for it. God is liberal when it comes to giving you the wisdom necessary investment of your talents for the glory of God.

Is fear keeping you back from going outside of your comfort zone to invest in something greater for the glory of God?

“Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.” Matthew 25:28

Have you noticed that God takes from those who are unfaithful and gives to those who prove themselves faithful?

Fear is a reason for not investing in others.

It’s “safer” to hold on to treasure rather than investing it. But our Lord has challenged me to invest and see others succeed

There are times you may think of yourself as indispensable. Thinking, if you don’t obey God’s call then others suffer or may not hear the truth of God. But could I lovingly warn you that if you don’t obey God’s call you are the one who suffers.

“For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14

Sea shell treasure in hands.

I pray you will desire His will and invest what God has entrusted you with. Be willing to take risk outside your comfort zone and see how GOD will multiply your investment.

“For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.” Matthew 25:29

To GOD be ALL the GLORY
