No Sting in Death
“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” I Corinthians 15:55 Death was something of a mystery to me as I child. And it continued to be so for many years. The medical community can tell you the indicators of when a person is dying physically. Yet a person is comprised of three parts. You have a body, spirit, and soul. “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” Romans 5:12 All people die because of one man’s sin. The first Adam died the moment he ate of the fruit of the knowledge of+ good and evil.
Happiness in the Christian Life
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” Titus 3:5-7 True happiness comes from being right with God. And it is God alone that makes you right with Him.
Missed Blessings
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:” Ephesians 1:3-4 Missed blessings are something you discover after the fact. And it’s been said hindsight is better than foresight. Have you looked back on your life and missed Missed blessings when Zipporah disliked God’s command to Moses. Sad women in the desert. blessings because of the choices you made?
Wait Upon the Lord
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 So, the Lord is having you wait. You wait on Him for your future. And you wait on Him for your health and provision. Are you growing weary?
His Word, My Hope
“Uphold me according unto thy word, that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope.” Psalm 119:116 The scriptures are more than ink on paper. When you hold the Bible in your hands, you hold God’s heart. No, the Bible is not God but the Bible reveals Him to you. “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.” John 5:39-40 His word the holy bible. Hands folded in prayer on closed Bible. God and His word are inseparable.
Flesh Performance to Gain Spiritual Fruit
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 If you view this passage thinking this is something you must “do” or “perform” as your duty as a Christian you have sadly misunderstood the Lord’s intent. You cannot bear the fruit of the Spirit in your own strength apart from the Spirit himself. What comes naturally to you in the flesh can never produce spiritual fruit.
Lose Your Life for His Sake
“For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.” Mark 8:35 Have you struggled so much that to lose your life is actually a welcoming thought? I struggled as a child and a young woman and even years later with thoughts of unworthiness. Thoughts of myself were so low that I even contemplated taking my own life.

The Fruit of the Spirit
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 I awakened from my nap at the mission’s quarters and opened my eyes to see the picture on the wall. It was that of Galatians 5:22-23. And for the first time, I noticed the word love in that verse. It was the first word to describe the fruit of the Spirit. Why hadn’t I noticed this before?
Playing God with Others
“I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.” Isaiah 14:14 Playing God in the lives of others leads to compromise. The devil desires to be like the most high. What a haughty thought. Do your actions declare the same attitude? You notice a person’s blind spots, areas of weakness they don’t realize exist. And you feel pressed to do something.
